Remove blank lines from text

Editors and data teams use Remove empty rows to clean or adapt many lines before pasting them somewhere else.

Remove blank lines from text and get clean lines ready to paste or process. Use it for free in your browser, with no account required.

How to use

  1. Paste your text into the input area or import a supported file to load many lines at once.
  2. Pick the cleanup method you need: remove every empty row, keep a single blank row, or also clean the start and end of the text.
  3. Run the cleanup with the main action and let the tool update the character and line counts.
  4. Check the output, then copy it into your document, spreadsheet, or code editor.

Where processing happens

All cleanup work happens inside your browser. The text you paste or import is not sent anywhere, and the result stays on screen until you leave the page or clear it yourself.

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell whether a line contains only spaces?

Paste the text and run a cleanup pass. If a line with spaces remains in the result, the selected mode did not count it as empty. You can remove it by hand or try another cleanup setting to see the difference.

Can I clean a CSV file without breaking its columns?

Yes, when the file type is accepted. Since the tool removes whole rows, the rows that remain keep their columns intact. Still check that no blank row was intentionally used as a separator in your file.

Will I get the same output if I run it again?

Yes, the same input and the same option produce the same result. That makes it easy to compare several cleanup modes on one text before copying the version you prefer.
