1. Publisher and data controller

YOORfreeTools is a free service published by YOORshop SAS, a simplified joint stock company with variable capital, share capital 2,500 euros, authorised variable capital 250,000 euros, registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 817 466 147, EU VAT FR 27 817 466 147, DUNS 267 747 610, with its registered office at 254 rue Vendome, 69003 Lyon, France.

Hosting: the company's own servers.

The processing is declared to the French data protection authority (CNIL) under number 1758818v0.

2. What the tools do

The vast majority of the 479 tools run entirely in your browser: the file is not sent anywhere.

Twenty-three heavy operations are the exception and send the file to our processing gateway: PDF compression, repair, linearisation, OCR and conversion, Office to PDF, image conversion, optimisation, OCR, auto-orientation, metadata stripping and background removal, video compression and conversion, video thumbnail, audio extraction.

These are plainly server-side operations: the accepted size goes up to 512 MB. The uploaded file and its result are stored temporarily on our server and deleted automatically after a configurable delay of 5 to 60 minutes, 15 minutes by default.

On our processing gateway the file is held in memory only, never written to a disk, and it is deleted as soon as the operation ends, whether it succeeded or failed. Neither the file name nor its content is written to any log. The IP address of the request appears in the gateway web server log and is kept there for about ten days. No third-party provider is involved: text recognition and conversions run on our own machine.

3. Account

Creating an account is optional. We then keep your email address, a fingerprint of your password (bcrypt applied to a SHA-256 digest; the password itself is never stored) and your list of favourite tools. The session lasts seven days. You can ask for your account to be deleted through the contact form.

Account data is kept for the strictly necessary period, that is three years from the last contact.

4. Contact form

We collect the name, email address, subject and message. They are recorded in a monthly log on our server and emailed to the site operator so that we can answer you. An anti-robot test protects the form; when enabled, it relies on Google reCAPTCHA.

Messages received are kept for three years from the last contact.

5. Audience measurement

We record usage events (page, tool, outcome). The IP address and user agent are never stored in clear text: they are turned into an HMAC-SHA256 fingerprint before being written. No advertising profile is built from this measurement.

The site shows Google AdSense ads under publisher ID ca-pub-1465084094936509. Google may set cookies and use advertising identifiers. Your consent is collected by a Google-certified consent management platform; you can change it at any time. The site also shows its own YOORhosting banners, which set no cookie.

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object. Send your request through the contact form; we answer within one month.

10. Applicable law and hosting

YOORshop SAS is subject to French law only. The company uses no servers operated by a United States company: your data does not fall under the US Cloud Act. Under article 40-1 of the amended French Data Protection Act, you may give directions on the retention, erasure and communication of your data after your death. Any dispute falls under the courts having jurisdiction over the registered office.
