Preview a CSV file as a table

For checking an export before import, sharing or correction, CSV viewer presents the data as a readable table.

Preview a CSV file as a table and quickly inspect its rows, columns and values before using it. You get the result directly in your browser.

How to use

  1. Select the CSV or TXT file you want to inspect from your computer or your phone.
  2. State the separator used by the file when detection gets it wrong, for example a semicolon or a tab.
  3. Display the table and scroll through the rows to spot shifted columns or empty cells.
  4. Fix the source if needed, then load the file again to check the corrected version.

Example

An order export arrives from a billing system and you want to check it before importing it somewhere else. The table view immediately shows whether a date column has slipped or whether customer addresses are incomplete.

Limits and formats

Where processing happens

The file you choose is read on your device by the browser, with no transfer to another machine, so nobody else can reach its content while you look at it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit a value directly in the viewer?

No, it is read-only: the table reflects the file exactly as it is. To change a value, edit the CSV in a spreadsheet program or in a text editor.

Why is all my data showing up in a single column?

The separator in use does not match your file. Pick the semicolon, the tabulation or the vertical bar by hand, then display the table again.

Does a large file display completely?

The content stays inside the page, but a bulky file takes the browser longer to draw. For a very heavy export, split it into smaller portions first.
