Explore statistics for a CSV column

For assessing an export before deeper analysis, CSV column statistics summarizes completeness, unique values and numeric data.

Measure fill rate, unique values and numeric statistics for a CSV column before deeper analysis. You get the result directly in your browser.

How to use

  1. Drop your CSV or TXT export into the loading area, or paste its contents when the file is small.
  2. Confirm which character separates the columns in this particular file, or let the page guess it for you.
  3. Run the analysis: fill rate, distinct value counts and numeric measures are computed for each column.
  4. Spot the columns that are incomplete or unusually spread out before you carry on with your work.

Example

Before building a report, you review a billing export: the fill rate shows which columns are often empty, while the count of unique values hints at possible duplicates among customer identifiers.

Where processing happens

The analysis runs in the page open in your browser: the file content stays there, with no transfer to a far-off service and no archived copy.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does the fill rate show?

It shows the share of cells that hold a value in a given column. A column that is completely empty or only half completed can therefore be spotted at a glance.

How are unique values counted?

Every distinct entry is counted once, whether it is text or a number. Two spellings that look similar, for instance differing only by a capital letter, are still counted separately.

Do the statistics cover the whole file or one column I choose?

The summary runs across the table column by column, so you get a broad view of the file rather than a calculation limited to a single column you selected beforehand.
