Turn text lines into a list

For preparing a field, parameter or paste between applications, Text to list switches easily between separate lines and comma-delimited values.

Reshape separate lines into a comma-separated list, or split a list back into individual lines. You get the result directly in your browser.

How to use

  1. Paste the values into the field, one per line if you are starting from a vertical list to convert.
  2. Choose the matching conversion: commas to lines, lines to commas, or another offered option.
  3. Run the conversion to obtain the list or lines in the format your task requires.
  4. Check the result, especially the separators, the spaces between values and any empty lines.
  5. Copy the converted text, or erase the field to start again with other data.

Example

With lines such as Red, Green and Blue, a conversion to commas produces a continuous list to paste into a form. Check whether the chosen separator matches what the destination application expects and whether any value has been lost or merged with another.

Where processing happens

The text conversion runs in your browser. The pasted lines or list are transformed locally, and the result appears without being sent or stored. You can therefore prepare parameters, form fields or pastes between applications without transmitting your data to an external service.

Frequently asked questions

Which conversions are available?

You can switch between lines and lists separated by commas, semicolons, tabs or vertical bars. Choose the action that matches both your starting format and the format you need.

Can I convert several values at once?

Yes, the field accepts multiple lines or a complete list. The tool applies the conversion to the whole entered content and then displays the result in the result area so you can copy it.

What if a value contains a comma?

A comma inside a value can be interpreted as a separator if you use the matching conversion. Check the output and, if needed, choose another separator to avoid an incorrect split.
