Create a hexadecimal API key

For developers preparing an environment, prototype or integration that requires a fresh technical identifier.

Generate a hexadecimal API key with your chosen optional prefix and receive a clean identifier ready for an integration or environment.

How to use

  1. Type an optional prefix if your integration expects one, such as text followed by a separator.
  2. Set the number of bytes you want, from sixteen to sixty-four, based on the length you need.
  3. Run generate to produce a hexadecimal key in the result area.
  4. Copy the key into your configuration file or secret manager.
  5. Clear the field before creating another key for a different environment.

Example

To prepare a test environment, enter a prefix such as sk_ and request thirty-two bytes. The tool returns a long prefixed hexadecimal string. Use it as a temporary identifier, then replace it before any production release. Never share a real key.

Input

sk_
32

Output

sk__4e7d29c27108c237907638b5c4e495659f6f37c0170ba39b0be5f81748e4a530

Limits and formats

Where processing happens

Generation runs inside your browser. The prefix and byte count stay on your device and are not sent away. The hexadecimal key appears directly on the page and is not saved anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Can I leave the prefix empty?

Yes, the prefix is optional. If your service expects a specific form, such as text followed by a separator, enter it. Otherwise leave the line blank to get a plain hexadecimal key. The result can still work as an identifier.

How many bytes should I choose?

It depends on what your integration requires. The offered range is sixteen to sixty-four bytes. A longer value creates a longer string, but the service you connect to may have its own limits.

Is the key saved anywhere?

No. Processing stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded. If you close or clear the page before copying the key, you will need to generate a new one. Store it in a secure secret manager.
