Build the SRI integrity value

Developers and security teams use SRI Generator when preparing a check, a local test or integration data.

Build the SRI integrity value, then keep the result ready for your test or integration. Use it for free in your browser, with no account required.

How to use

  1. Collect the exact content of the external resource your page loads from another domain.
  2. Place that content in the input area without editing it, because any difference changes the value you get.
  3. Run the generation to obtain the matching integrity value.
  4. Paste that value into the integrity attribute of the resource tag, keeping the same file version in place.

Example

You are embedding a library hosted elsewhere and want to lock the version you tested. Generate the value from the content you downloaded today, write the file version next to it, and repeat the operation whenever the provider publishes an update.

Limits and formats

Where processing happens

Everything is computed in your browser. The content you paste stays on your device, no upload takes place and no copy is kept beyond the current session, so you can prepare the value even for a file that is not public yet.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a new value after every update?

Yes. The check compares what the browser receives with the fingerprint you stored, so an updated file paired with an old value will simply be refused by the browser.

Can I reuse one value across several pages?

Yes, as long as those pages load exactly the same version of the same file. A different or edited resource needs its own value, even when the difference looks tiny.

What if I paste the value incorrectly?

The check fails and the resource is blocked when the page loads. Generate the value again from the exact content and compare it character by character with what you placed in the page.
