See the title, artist and software an audio file carries along with it. Use it free in your browser with no account required.

How to use

  1. Select an audio file whose embedded information you want to inspect.
  2. Run the tag reading action using the main button.
  3. Review the fields shown, such as title, artist or the software used.
  4. If a value looks unexpected, note it so you can correct the source in a dedicated editor.
  5. Clear the file from the interface when you are done if you do not need to keep it there.

Example

Before publishing a podcast episode, check the title and artist stored inside the file. If a tag still shows an old project name or the editing software, you can fix the source file before listeners download it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the artist or title with this tool?

No, it is a reader only. To change metadata, use a dedicated tag editor, save the file, and then open it here again if you want to confirm the new values.

Why are some metadata fields empty?

Not every audio file carries the same tags. If the creator left album, genre or year blank, the reader has nothing to display. The missing fields do not mean the file is damaged or unplayable.

Can metadata reveal personal information?

Yes, tags can include an author name, a software licence, a comment or a project path. Before sharing an audio file publicly, review those fields and clean them with a suitable editor if they contain private details.
