Draw an integer between two limits

For a draw, bounded test case or quick sample, Random number returns an integer between the limits you choose.

Draw a random integer between the two limits you set for a test, sample or quick decision. You get the result directly in your browser.

How to use

  1. Open the tool and find the two fields that define the draw limits.
  2. Enter the lower bound first and the upper bound second, following the example style shown in the interface.
  3. Start the generation to get one integer that falls between those limits.
  4. Copy the result if you need it for a test case, a draw or a bounded sample.
  5. Erase the fields to prepare another draw with different limits.

Example

To assign a turn number for an internal draw, a person enters a low bound and a high bound, then runs the generator. They check that the answer is an integer inside the range and write it down before setting up the next draw.

Where processing happens

The draw is calculated inside your browser on your device. The bounds you type and the number you receive are not uploaded outside. You can clear the fields or close the page after noting the result.

Frequently asked questions

Can the result be negative?

Yes, if you enter a negative lower bound and a higher upper bound. The tool simply respects the limits you provide, as long as the interval makes sense and the lower value is below the upper value.

Can I generate several numbers at once?

No, each run gives one integer. For multiple values, repeat the action and record each result, or use a tool designed to output a list of random numbers.

Is it suitable for an official lottery?

It can support a simple draw, but it is not a certified lottery system. For a public or regulated draw, check the applicable rules and plan for independent verification of the process.
