Frequently asked questions

What is a unit variable cost?

It is the cost that changes directly with each unit sold, such as raw materials or delivery fees. It is expressed per unit. Do not include fixed costs, which stay the same regardless of the volume sold.

Does the result account for taxes?

No, the calculation uses only the fixed costs, selling price and variable cost you enter. Taxes and duties are not deducted. You will need to add them manually if you want an after-tax view.

Can I use this tool for multiple products?

The tool calculates a threshold for one product or an average offering. If you sell several products with different margins, you will need to either group the data into an average or run a separate calculation for each product.
