Replace a selected color in an image

Helpful for designers, sellers and brand teams recoloring products, graphics or accents without repainting every matching area.

Swap a target color for a new one with adjustable tolerance, updating matching areas while leaving unrelated tones intact throughout the image.

How to use

  1. Load a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 20 MB to prepare the color replacement.
  2. Select the source color, meaning the shade that should be changed in the picture.
  3. Choose the new color that will take its place in the matching areas.
  4. Set the tolerance to include more or fewer nearby shades of the original color.
  5. Run the processing action, check the preview, then download the result or clear the selection.

Example

To change a solid background on a product photo, select the original shade and then the new color. Increase tolerance to catch nearby tones, but not so much that the product itself is affected. Inspect edges and shadows closely in the preview.

Where processing happens

The color swap runs inside your browser. The image is read from your device, matching pixels are changed in memory, and the result is then offered for download. Nothing is uploaded, and no copy is kept after you finish the operation.

Frequently asked questions

How should I set the tolerance?

A low tolerance replaces only pixels very close to the source color. A higher value includes more variation but may affect neighboring areas, so increase it gradually and keep watching the preview.

Can the tool replace a color in just one area?

No, replacement applies to matching pixels throughout the whole image. If two objects share the same shade, both will be changed; a mask would be needed to isolate one part.

Why do halos remain after replacing a color?

Edges often blend the source color with surrounding colors. When tolerance does not match those mixed pixels well, some traces stay behind; adjust the value or retouch the edges elsewhere.
