Export a JSON object as INI

Developers and operations teams choose JSON to INI when moving configuration or structured data between tools.

Export a JSON object as INI, then reuse a structured result that is easy to review. Use it for free in your browser, with no account required.

How to use

  1. Place a JSON object in the input area or import a compatible file (.toml, .json, .ini, .env, .jsonl, .ndjson, .sql, .txt).
  2. Press the Convert button to start the transformation.
  3. The result shows an INI file with sections and key=value pairs.
  4. Review the output to check that sections match your organization.
  5. Copy the generated content or clear everything with Erase.

Example

You need to provide an INI configuration file to an older piece of software. You start from a JSON describing the settings, and the tool rewrites it into INI sections. This saves you from retyping every key and reduces the risk of mistakes.

Limits and formats

Where processing happens

The whole process runs in your browser, with no data sent out. You can therefore convert sensitive configuration files while staying on your machine.

Frequently asked questions

How are nested objects represented in INI?

Nested objects often become sections whose name reflects the path, for example [database] for a database object. The result depends on depth. Check that the structure you get is accepted by your software.

What happens to arrays in the conversion?

Arrays are difficult to represent in INI. The tool may convert them into multiple lines with indices, or omit them. Test with a representative example and adjust manually if the result does not suit you.

Can I use the result in a standard .ini file?

The result follows a common INI syntax, but some parsers have specific requirements (quotes, escapes). It is advisable to test the file with the target application before deploying it.
