Share a location with a QR code

Useful for venues, hosts and field teams directing visitors to an entrance, meeting point, delivery address or remote site.

Package coordinates or a chosen place into a QR code that opens in a maps application, helping people reach the right destination.

How to use

  1. Enter the exact latitude of the place you want to share in the first field.
  2. Fill in the matching longitude, making sure the two values are not swapped.
  3. Set the code format by moving from 512 to 768 or 1024 px depending on the reading distance.
  4. Generate the QR, then scan it with a phone to see whether a maps app opens the right spot.
  5. Save the image and clear the coordinates if you need to prepare another destination.

Example

A host wants guests to find a hidden entrance. They enter the latitude and longitude of the gate, choose a readable size, and place the QR in the welcome message. Before sending it, they scan the code to confirm that the maps app points to the correct place.

Where processing happens

The location code is generated in your browser. The coordinates stay on your device while the visual is created, and no account is required.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR contain a full postal address?

It mainly encodes coordinates. A maps app may show a nearby place name or address, but the tool does not replace a written address. If access is tricky, add a short written landmark alongside the QR code.

Why does my phone open a different maps app than expected?

The operating system chooses the app linked to map actions based on device settings. Some phones ask, while others open a default app directly. Test on the phone models your audience uses most often before sharing.

Can I create this without knowing the coordinates?

You first need the latitude and longitude, which you can copy from a maps application. Enter both numbers carefully in the fields. Without those values, the tool cannot prepare a location QR code.
